A very warm and hearty CONGRATULATIONS to Marcello Rodante, Adolfo Braga, Tania Almedia and Olivia Furst, IACP members and founders of the Brazil’s Collaborative Practice in Family Law, who last week were awarded the Innovare Award – the highest award granted by the most important authorities in the Brazilian justice system. The Ministers of The Supreme Court (STF), Ministers of the Superior Justice Court (STJ), The Brazilian General Attorney and Members of the Public Ministry participated in the voting and selected Collaborative Practice in Family Law (from among more than 400 entries!) as a new and essential method for resolving conflicts in Brazil. In the words of the President of the Supreme Court of Brazil, Justice Joaquim Barbosa, the Innovare Award presented to Collaborative Practice in Family Law "is the deserved recognition to citizens and professionals, as part of its activities and its community, to build justice in everyday life to be a fairer, more cohesive society..."

Some of you may have met Olivia, Marcello and Tania at the San Antonio Forum. If you did, you will have experienced their passion and joyful determination! And, you’ll not be surprised that this small and amazing band of dedicated professionals has launched CP in South America in such a big way – in so little time!  Take a minute to watch their Praticas Colaborativas video on the home page. You don’t need to know any Portuguese to understand the universal (and brilliantly conveyed) message!

I had the pleasure to spend time with Tania and Marcello at the Forum. Having that opportunity is a perfect example of why people should attend the Forum. Congratulations Tania and Marcello and keep up the good work. There is hope for families in Brazil because of what you are doing!
